LimeLight by Alcone Skincare

image
I was recently sent samples of some of LimeLight by Alcone's skincare line by the lovely Jayne of jaynemicaela.com to try out. Now lately I've heard a lot of great things about LimeLight, so I was excited to get to try some of their product for myself!
Jayne sent me a 3-Day supply of LimeLight's Skin Polish, Calm Balm, and Dream Clean, as well as a catalog of their products and how to use them effectively.

Six Blogger Style // How to Wear a Floral Sundress

giftofgabbyblog_sixbloggerstyle_August2017_Floral-Sundress-Collage.jpg
I recently gathered a small group of style bloggers with an idea. What if we all decided on a general item of clothing, print, or fashion trend and styled it our own way?

There are so many different ways to wear pretty much everything, and I love to see how different people style similar items. And so, myself and five other lovely ladies have started Six Blogger Style! This is a once-a-month feature on each of our blogs where our readers can see each of our personal styles.

Since this is the first month, I'm going to introduce everyone underneath their posts! Everyone has written a short introduction for themselves, and I'll be linking to their blog posts as well so you can learn more about each of their outfits!

What I Wore: Pretty In Pink

_giftofgabby_2017_style_pretty-in-pink_1.jpg

I've been on such a pink kick lately it's insane. I just LOVE this top and when I saw these shoes on sale at Modcloth AND got a 40% off + free shipping coupon in the mail, I HAD to jump on it (I ended up only paying $21.99 total for the shoes!)

How to Reverse-Engineer a Thesis Statement for Your Research Essays

_giftofgabby_2017_How-To-Reverse-Engineer-A-Thesis-Statement-For-Your-Research-Essays
I have always loved writing. My favorite assignments in school were most always writing assignments and essays. But because I am more of a creative writer than a research essay person, I often struggled with research essays. There were always so many different sides to take on issues and various ways  to support or denounce each of these. If you're in college, I'm sure you already know how many research essays you end up having to write, and without a plan it can take forever. Luckily, I came up with a really easy way to focus in on what to write on.

What I Wore: I Can't Pose

I'm entirely too awkward for my own good, but I really liked my outfit today.

I rarely ever find merch for bands or tv shows I like in my size that doesn't cost $25+ so to find this Beatles tank for $3 was a joyous moment for me.

Military Wife Life

The United States military has been engrained in my life since day one. My father was in the Marine Corps for the first sixteen years of my life, we lived in a town that was home to Parris Island, the east coast's Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Everywhere you looked there were either current military members or veterans within seeing distance. I wouldn't even know how to function in a place where the military lifestyle wasn't constantly present.

The Youngs Are Back In Town

I'm still settling in back home from our week-long vacation in Beaufort. The main event of our Big Homecoming was my brother-in-law's high school graduation. Joe and I sat with his family to watch his youngest sibling walk across the stage. Many tears were shed (mostly by his mom) and we all celebrated with dinner out later that evening.

Sketchy Hotels and Creepy Jazz Crawls

You know how sometimes you'll think about something completely random that happened years ago and then can't stop thinking about it? Time for a story, everyone.

When I was in high school I was painfully awkward and shy, and the times that I wasn't shy the awkward took over and tended to make everything just weird. Like a cluster of weird.

So the choir I was in went on a trip to perform at the Dizzy Gillespie Jazz Festival upstate in a town called Cheraw. Everything was great about performing and listening to the music, seeing the town.

The Decision to Start A Blog

Bumblebee_

I've always been a careful person.

Especially when it comes down to big decisions. I couldn't rush into anything if I tried. Even going to get my hair done at a salon takes me a lot of thinking before I actually decide to do it, so believe me when I say I've been contemplating a blog for quite some time.

Slow Cooker Ham & White Bean Soup

Some days I can plan a full meal, baking chicken, sautéing vegetables, and maybe even baking some fresh bread.

Other days (more often than not) I'm lazy as all get-out. On these days I have a choice: either make something quick and, most likely, not very healthy, or throw some stuff into the crock pot and let it go for a few hours. I prefer the latter option as often as possible. I decided to share one of my favorite slow cooker recipes with you!

Pinup Inspired

I'm digging into pre-blog selfies to start off my style posts, but for good reason. On this particular day, my friend Adri came over to do my makeup. She wanted to do a pinup- inspired look.

What I Wore: 2017 Cavalry Ball

copypasteimage-1
I'm a little late in posting this, but didn't start the blog until after the ball last month. It was the Mr. and I's first military ball, and I absolutely loved my dress. I found it at Ross for $24! Can't really complain about that, especially with how perfect it was.
